JURJEVANJE

yesterday we went to a trip called: jurjevanje. which, i don't think it could be translated in english. Jurij is a saint, in england called (i think) George. this was a knight who killed a dragon. and he is our patron, protector. (for more details about it look for my further updates)
we went to a village called Sveti Kriz nad Belimi vodami (litterarly translated as: saint cross uppon the white waters). and we had lots of fun ...
we had lots of workshops indoors and also outdoors. there were people different ages, from 8 to 26, so we had lots of choices, for everybody. from climbing with the help of rope up to trees and down "falling" down to ground, making figures from wood, pendants from pine-tree wood with knives, puppets from stuff, we learned how to play with balls- actually two proffessional jugglers were trying to teach us some tricks, but the result wasn't too good, on the behalf of our abilities of throwing balls, knives and other stuff up in the air-, and a lot of other stuff, i don't remember, because there were so many choices.
not only for fun, but also for food was taken care of. we had two boys who were cooking just for us, and they have had lots of surprises for us ... they made pizza for everybody (and there were like 50 people, so they had a lot of work), and they made desserts just for us... anyway they were really hardworking.
our scout leaders made a movie, a light comedy about a saints, so we had a movie night with popcorn and games afterwards.
the elders took care for the youngsters and we tried to show them how many ways of having fun you can have ... and they, and we from them, have experienced new facts and we had a joyfull time together.
youngsters can also teach us, and we must be prepared to learn from them. and with experiences we can teach them things they don't know. this trip was another experience, along with all others, and relaxing time for all of us, and we weren't just learning and teaching each other, but we also had fun ... and that's how other trips should also be like!

my school

This is My music school
They say we will get new one this year. It would be most welcome if we had more space. Musicians need space. They say that we will get special big room for our chours and orchestra.

Hm, ideal … twelve is an ideal number. I would like to have 12 seats in circle. The number of students would have been perfect … well, ok, how do i imagine it?! Cosy room with lots of windows to let the light in, benches settled in a circle- the teacher at the top of the circle. On the walls posters with topics of the subject we are learning. As colourfull as it can be. Warm colours. Some flowers, some interesting things around, magazines, TV and radio in. and well … i don't know. It should fell cosy, not intense- too small, because in small classrooms you fell tight, not comfortable, you can't concentrate. When feeling comfy you can devote your toughts at the subject. It could have some pencils too, so if yours stop to work, you can borrow it:) and maybe chairs shouldn't be the old way ones- which u can hardly move. And to strict shapes of classrooms are also unwelcome. and also the inside of the school would be also essential- interesting shapes, enviroment around it …

PART 3- Enablers and barriers, huh!?

(i have some problems, i hope u noticed my previous posts!)
this picture shows how the teacher should comunicate with their students. this picture also is not made in our school. so ...

Well, i think that sometimes teachers are too strict or want from us too much. Sometimes they think their subject is the only one on the world and everyday they give you too much homework(=hw) and they want to ask you for a grade almoust every hour. And when a few teachers do that and if you really don't have time that day, it's hard to do all and next day you get a bad because you couldn't do it. I know that i'm not supposed to complain about this things, eventhough i have 2 schools, because it's my problem, but sometimes it's just- too much of everything. Our maternal language teacher gives us hw every day and every week one essay-comparison between two figures from literature. I don't complain, it's good for us, but sometimes i fel like it's too much. I think that almoust all of our teachers are good, but some could really need a renovation of their teaching methods.
I would also change or grade system. How is in america or england? Well, here it's graded from 1 to 5. 5=excellent, 4=great, 3=good, 2=satisfactory, 1=the worst of all-bad. Well, i think it should be like this 1=really bad, 2=not so bad, 3=satisfafctory, 4=quite good, 5=good, 6=great, 7=excelent; or something like that. On universities we have a grading from 1 to 10. which is also good.
It's good that we have a chance to repair our grade. And that we have a chance to know music, arts, computing, sociology, philosophy, psychology … So that we can see other points of views. It's also good, that we have store and bars around school, or music between classes or that we have school radio and newspaper and acting group. There are a lot of different activities we can do. And every year we have sports days, when we go in fitness, rafting, bicycling, walking, swimming or whatever linked with sports. Activities are important for us so we can develope our abilities.

PART2- ICT's and tech2

this is how the lesson should look like. but this is not in our school:)

If get ICT right, then we don't have acces to ICT's yet. Could someone explain to me what this program exactly is?! Because it seems like non of our techer is interested in that i don't have any idea how could that help me, if i can do all that by myself at home!? Well, explain.
But we have 2 computers in library, but are really slow, and 5 broken ones in the common room and lots of them in 3 coputer rooms. These rooms are used only by freshmens and those, who take economics. Others don't have access to them. So to those students, they are used effectively, but not to us. We could say that they have ICT access, because they have to learn how to operate with them and make stuff. But we also had a chance to learn how to use them more specificly. We had to make a project with Word, but we had to use it properly-the teacher was really strict. Or we had to show him for a grade how to operate with other functions on the coputer, or to present him and others one program … we also had a chance to use literature from web and to play games after we finished what we had to do. I think this was really usefull. I don't know how do you have this thing arranged, but here it is like i told u, and i think that more than that i don't need.
